The association's meeting covered several important planning and local issues affecting our community. A significant planning application continues to progress, with further detailed reports now expected to be reviewed in November following recent amendments to the proposals. The committee is undertaking a second round of fundraising to support the additional consultancy work needed to assess these changes properly. Separately, the association has been actively tackling refuse and fly-tipping problems in the area, and recent collaborative efforts with Camden's enforcement team are already showing positive results.
On the broader neighbourhood front, members discussed Camden's consultation on a school streets scheme in a nearby area, recognising that any restrictions introduced there could have knock-on effects for Downshire Hill and surrounding roads. The association will be providing feedback to the council on this proposal. Good news also came regarding Keats House, where a licence for events has been granted with appropriate conditions in place following community input.
The next meeting is scheduled for early December, giving the committee time to review developments on the major planning application and continue working on other local priorities.
