DHRA Minutes. April 2025

The association welcomed updates on several neighbourhood initiatives that have been making a real difference to life on the Hill. The trial period for refuse bins serving the flats above our local shops is concluding with positive results, and residents are encouraged to help keep the pavements clear by removing bins promptly—especially helpful when neighbours are away. Police activity continues to focus on retail crime in the High Street, with an increased visible presence and four arrests of prolific offenders already made. Residents are reminded to stay vigilant about mobile phone snatching and to report any antisocial behaviour, whilst the community has been heartened by recent examples of neighbours looking out for one another, including preventing an attempted theft from repair vans. The association also welcomed news of bike registration funding as a theft deterrence measure.

On highways, the committee is pursuing the renewal of 20mph speed limit signage that was lost during recent resurfacing work, and Camden will be undertaking fresh speed monitoring on the Hill. Several planning applications continue to be monitored closely, with the association ready to help coordinate resident feedback where appropriate. The team extends thanks to those who have welcomed new residents to the area and added them to our community communication channels—we're always keen to hear from new members interested in getting involved with the association.

Looking ahead, the association is planning its summer gathering and exploring potential improvements to the street scene, including discussions about replacing shrubbery along the church frontage. Anyone wishing to raise issues for discussion at future meetings is warmly invited to get in touch, and the association is actively seeking additional committee members to help with its ongoing work.
