The committee convened to discuss a range of matters affecting our community. On traffic, recent findings from the Hampstead Transport Partnership show that peak-hour congestion is concentrated on main roads rather than Downshire Hill itself, which is encouraging news for our neighbourhood. The committee also welcomed the recent improvements to road signage and markings in the area. On security, no significant concerns were raised at the January Neighbourhood Security meeting, and residents are invited to join Met Engage and attend local police liaison events to stay connected with community safety efforts. The committee is also working through several planning applications affecting the neighbourhood, including overseeing the Hampstead Police Station Construction Management Plan and preparing representations to Camden Council on other developments.
Looking ahead, the committee is progressing on a number of initiatives. A proposal is being developed for the St John's planting scheme, which will soon be discussed with the Church and their architect. On administrative matters, the association's finances remain stable, and the committee is establishing a new online bank account to improve efficiency. There will also be some changes to committee roles as we move forward.
Finally, the committee paused to reflect with sadness on the recent passing of two much-valued residents, whose contributions to the community will be greatly missed.
